ZAJEC FINDS SYSTEM FOR DINAMO

Dinamo Zagreb look good to progress to the third qualifying round of the Champions League after defeating Slovenian league winners Luka Koper 5-1 in the first leg. Despite going behind early on, Mario Mandzukic scored twice before Miroslav Slepicka, Sammir and Etto put Dinamo in control. Velimir Zajec was the star of the show as his new 4-3-3 system has given Dinamo a greater freedom.

Matias Chago seems central to Zajec's new system in the defensive midfield role. Chago is expected to play the bulk of the HNL1 games, but will be joined by Adrian Callelo the further Dinamo progress in European competition. Milan Badelj will play a central midfield role in the Croatian league, with Sammir given licence to create and supply Dinamo's new three man attack which sees Pedro Morales and Miroslav Slepicka playing in their preferred positions as support forwards to Mario Mandzukic. Ilija Sivonjic and Andrej Kramaric have the chance to impress as first options from the bench along with Calello, Tomislav Barbaric and Dario Simic.

Tomislav Butina is certain to stay on in goal. It remains to be seen whether Domagoj Antolic and Ante Tomic are prepared to be patient for there chance or whether they will seek a new environment. Dodo also looks to be out of contention in the present time and could go out on loan.
