Dinamo Zagreb were disappointing at the weekend as NK Rijeka claimed a 2-1 win over the Croatian Champions. Ivan Rodic claimed his first goal for the club, with the second coming by way of a Badelj own goal. It is Rijeka second successive win, alongside Zagreb and Slaven Belupo. Zagreb beat Istra 2-0 with Ivan Kristanovic claiming his third of the season. Slaven Belupo won 1-0 away at Inter with Alen Maras netting the only goal.

Zadar and HNK Split opened their account for the season. Split demolished Varazdin 4-0 with Saed Bucan collecting a double. Zadar beat Karlovac 2-0 with strikes from their forward partnership Terkes and Santini. Sibenik and Cibalia played out a scoreless draw.

In other news Dinamo have held off the loan of Dodo and have instead sent Domagoj Antolic back to Lokomotiva. Antolic, will be a major addition having impressed on loan last season. Jurica Vranjes will definitely sign with Hajduk. Especially as Marijan Buljat is out long term with a second broken leg recieved in training and Marin Ljubicic also recieved a fracture in the defeat to Dinamo Bucarest. Vedran Celiscak has returned to Medimurje in HNL2.
