BADBOY IMAGE RUINING DRPIC CAREER

Central defender Dino Drpic remains in free agent status after leaving Karlsruhre at the end of last season. Drpic who was a regular fixture in Croatia's squad for the World Cup qualification campaign had a mediocre season in Bundesliga 2 last year with the midtable German side. Now 28, Drpic may find a decent offer hard to come by despite rumours linking him with Sporting Lisbon. It would make sense for Drpic to return to Dinamo Zagreb considering the clubs need for a left sided centre back. However the players off field problems seem to have to scuppered any possible come back. A clean cut Drpic may interest Dinamo, who might have even been willing to allow in demand Leandro Cufre to return back to Argentina to make room for him. However for the moment it seems Drpic will have to find a club abroad. At present a team in Greece, Bundesliga 2, Belgium or Austria seems most realistic.

Goran Sablic, who are ironically was challenging with Hjorve Vejic and Drpic for centre back spot with Croatia only a year ago share similar circumstances with Drpic. The 30 year old has just been released by Dinamo Kiev and is struggling to suit up with a new club. Again Hajduk may have been interested in their former player. However with four centre backs already on their books, such a deal seems unlikely. Sablic may also find luck in the Turkish or Greek league
